Hop Hands was technically founded in 2014. That year we had a product, a business license and a logo.
Nevertheless, it wasn’t until 2015 that we fine-tuned our mission, and what we were actually doing with this business. We did our first business trip to Bend, Oregon. Taking the information we gained from that trip, we worked with our manufacturing company and finalized the design of the Hop Hands. From there we launched our website and prepared for our first Kickstarter.
In June, we launched our first Kickstarter campaign. We started off strong, raising over $4,000 in the first week. Then Jenna received some bad news. Within the same week, her father’s father and her mother’s mother passed away. We believe family comes before business, so Jenna took time away, and spent the last two weeks of our campaign on the east coast, mourning and comforting her family.
We spent the rest of 2015, recovering, dreaming and planning for 2016. Here’s what we’ve got in store for this year:
- An updated website. Focused more on Hop Hands, the product, Emily and Jenna and cool beer happenings and less on our Kickstarter campaign.
- We are going to re-launch our Kickstarter and place our first run of Hop Hands orders. Just in time for summer, aka bike and beer season.
- More product offerings. Since day one, we’ve been collecting feedback and planning an array of products. We want to get Hop Hands products into YOUR hands before we share more of our ideas.
Right now, while you wait for new Kickstarter, you can snag some sweet Hop Hands t-shirts available now on our website.
2015 was a great learning year for Emily and I. 2016 will be the year of biking around town with your Hop Hands full of tasty craft beer!
Wishing you the best 2016!
Cheers,
Emily and Jenna
